Perennial A lemony staple of Thai cuisine Tender long, slander,pale green stems that are thick and fleshDirect sow 2–3 seed per plant indoors for best germination or prepared bed in spring. In milder climates grow on in greenhouse for first winter before planting out. Pot up smaller divisions. Easy to grow leaves to for tea and to add to potpourris. Keep evenly moist until germination. Does not do well in cool wet summer climates, frost tender. Overwinter in a cool spot in a sunny window over winter. Typical germination rates are 30-40%. Surface sow, press into soil, do not cover. Soil pH 6.1–7.8. Hardiness zones 9–11. Perennial.
